Terms of use

Short, because the site is simple.

What you get

whatsmygeneration.com is free to use. It tells you which generation a birth year falls into, using the Pew Research Center ranges where they exist and clearly labelled common ranges where they do not. It is provided as-is: the answers are offered in good faith and checked against public sources, but generation labels are conventions, not facts of nature, and no warranty is given for any use you make of them.

Your result cards

The images you download or share from the calculator are yours to post, print and send wherever you like, with or without credit. The site’s name and design, the text on the pages and the generated Open Graph images are copyright of the site owner; quoting a sentence with a link back is fine, wholesale copying is not.

No accounts, no tracking

There is nothing to sign up for and nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere. The privacy page explains the cookieless analytics.

Links and sources

Links to Pew Research Center, the US Census Bureau and other sources point at third-party sites whose content the site owner does not control. Generation ranges and population figures are summarised from those sources; the about page lists them.
